My 2 years Review of Honor magic watch 2.

Smartwatch’s Brand and Model-Honor Magic Watch 2

Usage-For almost 2 years

Its build Quality -Feels heavy and premium. It’s more sporty like.

User Interface- UI is good and fast.

Display/screen-It has colourful display.

Battery Performance– Battery lasts for around 10 days when continuous heart rate tracking feature is enabled. Not disappointed with battery.

Strap Quality-Nice. Hasn’t weathered yet. Looks good as new.

Charger Quality- Feels good. Looks premium.

Buttons performance-Buttons are Usally fast. Sometimes they become a bit laggy. But that’ happens only for one press and it’s not very frequent.

Speaker Performance– Speaker is quite good. Its loud enough. I am really happy with it.

Mic Performance– Mic is exceptionally good. Many times, while riding bike, i used bluetooth calling. even in wind, its mic performed great. Other person was able to hear me clearly. Very happy with it.

How much i paid and when– Piad 8099 INR in Sep 2022.

Is it worth the money– Yes it is.

Are Softwares Updates frequent– Yes. Not very frequent.

Other details-

1. You can only store upto 10 contacts.
2. Its app isn’t available on play store (in india). But you can download it from huawei appgallery or from other stores like getapps, samsung store, etc.
3. Its available in ios and the app works well there.
4. You can store many watch faces. But its limited. As of now, i have 32 watch faces downloaded in my watch and It asks me to delete some to make space for new.
5. when i bought it. i did underwater test. I put it at the bottom of a bucket full of water for few minutes. Its touch worked well inside water, and its mic and speaker gave a bit weird sound (because of water inside them) but after i flick it a few times and water got out, both mic and speaker were working better. After it was dried up, it was back to normal. So a big thumbs up.

Any other Pros–

1.  Very good quality mic and speaker.
2. waterproof. After taking it out of water, speaker sounds a bit weird, but just by flicking watch a few times, its back to normal.
3. It has compass, barometer.
4. you can save contacts on watch. (limited to 10)
5. the available storage for songs is 2 gb. Volume control is uniform and not dramatic.
6. you can make calls directly via smartwatch. Because it has both ‘recent calls’ and ‘contacts’.
7. you can watch the full notifications on watch. It wont give you half info (like other watches do). It will give you full notification.

Any other Cons–

1. Android app is a bit headache while registering. I was facing a lot of ‘send otp failed, retry’. Also sometimes some functions take forever to load.
2. you can only store music with android smartphones.
3. You can only add custom watch faces with android app. But once saved, you can use them while its connected to ios too.

Final Verdict– Its a really good smartwatch. I wish they work more on android app. Also, don’t fall for apps with similar names on play store. Official app is under name ‘Huawei Health’ and its around 80-90 MBs size.

There are some features that can only be used with android application and not with IOS application (due to apple’s security terms), for example, downloading extra watch faces, storing music to play directly from watch. But once you’ve downloaded watch faces or music, you can use it well with IOS.
